This engine connecting rod bearing set supports the big end of the rod on the crankshaft journal. It forms a thin pressurized oil film that keeps metal parts apart, controls clearance, and cuts friction under load. Replace during an overhaul, after low oil pressure, or when crank journals are refinished. A fresh set restores smooth rotation, stable oil pressure, and quiet operation. β
How it works
Triβmetal shells clamp into the rod and cap. With correct clearance, engine oil builds a hydrodynamic wedge between bearing and crank. This oil wedge carries the load at every power stroke, preventing scuffing and heat buildup.
If worn or broken β οΈ
Coldβstart knock, hot idle pressure drop, metallic glitter in oil, and rising temps appear first. Continued use risks spun bearings, ovalized rods, damaged crankshaft, and full engine seizure. Immediate replacement prevents catastrophic failure.
