Exhaust Valve for Durable Engine Performance
This OEM-grade exhaust valve controls the release of hot gases from the combustion chamber. Correct timing and tight sealing keep power strong, fuel use low, and emissions clean. Built for tough duty, it resists extreme heat, deposits, and seat wear to deliver long, quiet service.
Why you need it
A precise exhaust valve maintains compression, protects the turbo and catalyst, and prevents backpressure. It is essential after overheating, burnt valve edges, warped stem, or when rebuilding a high-mileage head.
How it works
Driven by the cam through lifter and rocker, the valve opens on the exhaust stroke to let burned gases exit the cylinder. When it closes, the beveled face seals against the seat, locking in compression for the next power cycle.
If the valve is damaged
Expect rough idle, misfire, loss of power, hard start, higher fuel use, popping through exhaust, blue/gray smoke, and possible catalyst damage. Prolonged driving can burn the seat and piston crown.
Tech highlights
- Heat-resistant alloy face with hardened seat area
- Nitrided/Chromed stem for low wear and smooth guide travel
- Precision head runout for perfect seal and quiet operation
- Designed for OEM spring pressures and timing
Install notes
Always measure stem-to-guide clearance, lap lightly if specified, replace stem seal, set lash to spec, and torque rocker gear in sequence. After install, run-in and recheck clearances.
