How it works
The lid mounts on a hinge beside the filler neck. A spring and latch hold it flush with the quarter panel; pull the release or press the edge to open, refuel, then snap it closed. While the cap seals vapors, the door blocks debris and directs water away from the neck.
What happens if it’s broken ⚠️
A bent hinge or missing door leaves the filler neck exposed—dirt intrusion, corrosion risk, sticking cap, and possible EVAP warnings if grit affects the cap seal. The door may rattle, catch wind, or scratch paint. In heavy rain, water can pool around the neck and shorten cap life.
Fitment and install tips
Direct bolt-on. Align hinge, snug fasteners, check panel gaps, and verify latch action. Lightly grease the hinge pin. If repainting, prep with adhesion promoter and match color code for OE look.
