Premium Air‑Fuel Ratio Sensor for Mazda ?
This wideband oxygen (AFR) sensor keeps your Mazda’s mixture perfectly balanced near 14.7:1. It constantly reports exhaust oxygen to the ECU, so fuel and spark stay optimized for power, economy, and clean emissions. Ideal as an OE‑spec replacement for the upstream sensor near the exhaust manifold.
Why you need it ⛽?
A healthy AFR sensor gives stable idle, crisp throttle, strong MPG, and protects the catalytic converter. It helps smooth cold starts, reduces emissions, and maintains engine longevity.
How it works ⚙️
Inside is a heated zirconia wideband cell. The heater brings the tip to operating temp fast. The ECU measures pump‑current across the cell to know if the mix is rich or lean, then trims injector pulse in milliseconds. Sealed connector and stainless body resist heat, water, and road salt.
If it’s failing or broken ⚠️
Expect rough idle, weak acceleration, higher fuel use, black smoke or sulfur smell, and a Check Engine Light. The ECU may run rich/lean “safe” maps, risking catalytic damage and failed emissions.
Fitment & install ?️
Direct‑fit Mazda upstream AFR/O2 sensor with quick response and low noise signal. Anti‑seize on threads and a new crush washer allow clean torque and future service. Replace when aged, contaminated by coolant/oil, or after catalyst repairs.
