Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor for Mazda ️
Keep your Mazda running smooth with an OEM‑grade coolant temp sender that talks directly to the ECU. It delivers accurate heat readings so fueling, ignition, idle, dash gauge, and radiator fan timing stay in perfect sync. Better warm‑ups, stable idle, cleaner emissions, and longer engine life .
Why this part is needed
The ECU uses coolant temperature to set cold‑start enrichment, switch closed‑loop mode, command the electric fan, and control purge and A/C logic. Correct data prevents overheating, fuel waste, and sluggish performance ️.
How it works
Inside is an NTC thermistor. As coolant warms, resistance drops. The ECU reads the voltage change and calculates actual coolant temperature. A sealed tip and O‑ring keep the sensor dry; a keyed plug ensures quick, correct connection .
If the sensor fails
Expect hard cold starts, rough idle, rich/lean mix, weak heater, fan stuck on or off, poor MPG, false gauge readings, and Check Engine Light (often P0115–P0119) ⚠️. Ignoring it risks overheating and head‑gasket damage.
Tech notes
Fit in the housing or head, swap with engine cool, use fresh seal, refill and bleed coolant, then clear codes. Quick, clean, reliable fix .
