How it works ⚙️
Threaded into the block or gallery, a sealed diaphragm and calibrated spring move an internal contact. At normal pressure the circuit opens; when pressure falls, it closes to ground, lighting the oil icon and informing the ECU. Correct torque and sealing stop leaks.
If it fails
Stuck OFF: no warning and possible engine seizure. Stuck ON: constant oil light and false alarms. Intermittent or cracked body: flicker, oil seep, messy bay. Replace at first sign and confirm with a mechanical gauge during diagnosis.
Install tips
