Mazda Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Keep your engine timing perfect. This premium camshaft position sensor feeds precise cam angle data to the ECU so fuel injection, spark, and VVT stay in sync. Result: crisp starts, steady idle, strong mid‑range, and clean emissions.

Why this part is needed

Modern Mazda engines depend on exact cam timing to coordinate with the crank sensor. A fresh sensor restores reliability, prevents hard starting in hot/cold weather, and maintains peak fuel economy and power .

How it works

Inside is a Hall‑effect element reading a trigger wheel on the cam. As teeth pass, it outputs a clean square‑wave signal. The ECU uses this signal for injector phasing, coil dwell, and variable valve timing in real time.

What happens if it’s faulty

Symptoms include long cranks, random stalling, rough idle, misfire, reduced power, poor MPG, and check engine light ⚠️ (often P0340/P0341). If the signal drops out, the engine may not start because synchronization is lost.

Tech notes

Direct plug‑and‑play fit. Inspect connector pins, keep wiring away from heat, and clear codes after install. Pair with a healthy crank sensor for perfect sync ️.
