OEM Crankshaft Main Bearings for Mitsubishi (ME999384)
Keep your engine smooth and quiet with this premium main bearing set designed for Mitsubishi gasoline and diesel motors. Built to OEM spec, it restores correct oil clearance between the crank and block, protecting power, fuel economy, and oil pressure.
Why you need it οΈ
These half-shell bearings support the crankshaft and center it in the block. They hold the oil film that prevents metal-to-metal contact. When clearances wear out, the engine loses pressure, knocks on start-up, and sheds metal into the sump.
How it works
Each shell sits in the main housing bore, with a soft overlay and precision backing. Pressurized oil feeds the groove, creating a hydrodynamic film that carries the crank under load. Correct crush and tang location keep the shells locked, while thrust faces (where equipped) control axial movement.
If the bearings fail β οΈ
Expect low oil pressure, dull or sharp knock, copper glitter in oil, hot spots on journals, spun shells, and finally a seized crank. That means a full rebuild or replacement short block.

Measure journals and housings, choose correct grade, verify clearance with Plastigage, lubricate on assembly, torque caps in sequence, and recheck end float. Clean oil passages and use fresh filters after installation.
