Engine Connecting Rod Bearing Set
This precision shell set restores factory oil clearance between the connecting rod and the crankshaft journal in Mitsubishi engines. It keeps a stable oil film for smooth idle, quiet running, and reliable power delivery .
Why this part is needed ️
The bearing supports the rod under combustion loads and prevents metal-to-metal contact. Over time, wear, dirty oil, detonation, or overheating thin the overlay and score the surface. Timely replacement protects the crankshaft, maintains oil pressure, and extends engine life.
How it works ⚙️
Two semi-circular shells seat in the rod and cap. When torqued, they form a round bore around the crank pin. Pressurized engine oil creates a micro-thin hydrodynamic film that carries the load. The soft overlay embeds tiny debris, while precision sizing keeps clearance in spec for cold starts and high-rpm stability.
If worn or damaged
Symptoms include rod knock, low oil pressure, glitter in oil, and rising temps. Driving on a failed shell can spin the bearing, seize the journal, destroy the rod, and wipe out the engine.

Measure journals, select correct grade, verify clearance with plastigage, torque to spec, and finish with fresh oil and filter.
