Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor for Mazda — OEM-Grade Fit ️
Keep your Mazda running clean and cool with a precise engine coolant temperature sensor. This small part feeds real-time temperature data to the ECU, so the system can set fuel mix, ignition timing, idle speed, and switch radiator fans at the right moment. Result: smooth cold starts, stable idle, better MPG, and longer engine life.
Why you need it ✅
Accurate temperature control prevents overheating and wash-down during cold starts, improves emissions, and protects head gasket, catalytic converter, and sensors. It also keeps the gauge honest and the fans smart.
How it works ⚙️
Inside is an NTC thermistor. As coolant warms, resistance drops. The ECU converts this signal to temperature, trims fueling and timing, and commands the cooling fans.
If it fails
Expect hard cold starts, rich or lean running, rough idle, poor fuel economy, black smoke, fan stuck on/off, false gauge readings, overheating, and Check Engine Light (typical ECT codes). Prolonged driving can warp the head.
Install tips ️
Mounts in head or thermostat housing. Replace seal/O-ring, avoid overtightening, refill and bleed coolant, clear codes, warm up and check for leaks. Use correct coolant for Mazda alloys.
