Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor for Mazda ️
Keep your Mazda’s ECU informed and your engine running clean with a precise ECT sensor. This small probe reads coolant temperature so the computer can manage cold starts, fuel trim, ignition timing, idle speed, and switch the radiator fan on at the right moment. Result: smooth drive, better MPG, and longer engine life.
Why this part is needed ✅
Correct temperature data lets the ECU enrich fuel on cold starts, stabilize idle, prevent knock, and protect the engine from overheating. It also helps reduce emissions and supports accurate transmission behavior.
How it works
Inside is an NTC thermistor. As coolant warms, resistance drops. The ECU reads the voltage signal (5V reference) and calculates real coolant temperature. A sealed body and OE-style connector ensure quick response and leak-free fit.
If it fails ⚠️
Hard cold starts, rough idle, high fuel use, weak power, fan stuck on/off, overheating, and Check Engine Light (common codes P0115/P0117/P0118/P0125). Prolonged driving may damage the head gasket or catalytic converter.
Tech tips
Install on a cool engine, replace the sealing washer/O-ring, torque to spec, refill and bleed coolant, and clear codes. Inspect the connector for corrosion.
