Rear Auto Leveling Height Sensor for Mazda

This rear suspension height sensor helps your vehicle keep the correct headlight aim and body level when passengers or cargo change the ride height. It is a key part of the automatic leveling system, especially on SUVs that often carry varying loads ?✨.

Why this part is needed

When the rear of the car squats under load, headlights can point too high and reduce visibility for you and oncoming traffic. This sensor reports rear ride height to the control unit so the system can adjust leveling properly.

How it works

The sensor is mounted to the rear suspension with a small linkage arm. As the suspension moves up or down, the arm rotates the sensor. Inside, it converts that movement into an electrical signal. The module then commands the leveling motors/actuators to correct the angle and keep lighting stable ?.

What happens if it’s broken

A failed sensor can cause warning lights, headlights aiming too high or too low, uneven beam pattern, or erratic leveling. In some cases the system may freeze in one position, reducing night visibility and potentially failing inspection ❗.
