Suspension Control Arm Bush
? This suspension bush is a small part with a big job: it cushions and stabilizes the connection between the control arm and the vehicle body. It is needed to keep the suspension tight, quiet, and correctly aligned while still allowing controlled movement over bumps and during braking.
How It Works
The bush is made from bonded rubber (or elastomer) with an inner sleeve. As the control arm moves up and down, the rubber twists and flexes to absorb vibration, reduce road noise, and prevent metal-to-metal contact. This helps maintain proper wheel geometry, steering feel, and tyre contact with the road.
What Happens If Itβs Worn or Broken
β οΈ A damaged bush lets the arm shift too much. That can cause knocking sounds, loose steering, uneven tyre wear, pulling to one side, and unstable braking. In severe cases it may lead to poor handling and accelerated wear of ball joints and tyres. Replacing it restores ride comfort and safer control.
