Clutch Release Fork (Manual Transmission) ?

This clutch release fork is a key linkage part between your clutch pedal system and the release bearing. It’s needed to convert pedal or hydraulic movement into a firm push on the clutch pressure plate fingers, so the clutch can disengage smoothly for clean gear changes.

How It Works βš™οΈ

When you press the clutch pedal, the slave cylinder (or cable system) moves the fork. The fork pivots on its ball stud and pushes the release bearing straight into the pressure plate. That action separates the clutch disc from the flywheel, letting the gearbox shift without grinding.

Symptoms If It’s Worn or Broken ?

A bent, cracked, or worn fork can’t apply even pressure. You may feel a heavy or soft pedal, poor clutch release, hard shifting, gear crunch, or a clutch that won’t disengage at all. If it fails fully, the car can be stuck in gear or unable to select gears, risking damage to the release bearing and pressure plate.

Why Replace It Early βœ…

Replacing a tired fork restores proper clutch geometry, reduces bearing noise, and helps protect the whole clutch set during daily driving.
