Steering Rack Boot Kit 🚗
This steering boot kit protects the inner steering joint and rack shaft from road dust, water, mud, and small stones. It is a small rubber part, but it is very important for safe steering. When the boot is in good condition, grease stays inside and the steering parts move smoothly.
Why This Part Is Needed
The steering system works close to the road, so it is always exposed to dirt and moisture. The boot seals the moving joint area and helps prevent rust, dry wear, and loose steering. A good boot can extend the life of the rack end, tie rod, and steering rack.
How It Works 🔧
The flexible rubber boot expands and compresses when the wheels turn left or right. It follows the movement of the steering linkage while keeping lubricant inside. Clamps hold it tight at both ends, creating a clean and protected working area.
What Happens If It Breaks
If the boot is cracked or torn, grease can leak out and dirt can enter. This may cause knocking noise, heavy steering, uneven tyre wear, rust on the rack shaft, and possible steering play. Replacing it early is cheaper than changing a damaged steering rack.
