Engine Airflow Control Assembly ⚙️
This component is fitted on the intake side to control how much air enters the engine. Your accelerator pedal sends a command to open or close the throttle path, helping the ECU keep the correct air/fuel mix for smooth idle, strong pickup, and safe fuel economy.
Why this part is needed ✅
Without accurate airflow control, the engine cannot balance combustion properly. This assembly is critical for stable RPM at idle, clean response when you press the pedal, and consistent power under load.
How it works ️
Inside the housing, a throttle plate rotates to meter incoming air. Sensors report throttle angle to the ECU, which adjusts fuel delivery and ignition timing. Some versions use an actuator to fine-tune opening for cold starts, A/C load, and sudden acceleration.
What happens if it fails
- Rough idle, stalling at stops, or hunting RPM
