Front Brake Disc (Rotor) for Mitsubishi 4x4

This front rotor is a key safety part that your braking system relies on every time you slow down. It is needed to give the brake pads a hard, flat surface to clamp onto, turning vehicle speed into heat through friction. On heavy SUVs, the rotor also helps manage high loads during towing, mountain driving, and stop‑and‑go traffic.

How it works

When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic pressure pushes the caliper pistons, squeezing the pads against the rotor. The rotor spins with the wheel hub, and its mass absorbs heat while its ventilation design helps cool it down. A true, balanced rotor keeps braking smooth, straight, and predictable.

What happens if the rotor is worn or damaged

A bad rotor can cause steering shake, longer stopping distance, uneven pad wear, squealing or grinding, and brake fade when hot. Deep grooves, cracks, heavy rust, or thickness below spec can overheat the pads and caliper, reduce control in emergencies, and may lead to inspection failure.
