Left-Hand Outer Steering Tie Rod End for Subaru

This LH outer steering joint links the rack to the wheel knuckle, keeping toe angle precise and your steering sharp. Built with a heat-treated stud, low-friction ball socket, and a sealed boot, it delivers quiet, tight control and long service life. Anti-corrosion coating resists road salt and moisture.

Why you need it

Worn ends cause play in the steering, uneven tire wear, pulling, and clunks over bumps. Replacing this joint restores straight tracking, protects new tires, and helps pass safety inspection.

How it works

The ball-and-socket pivots as the suspension moves while transferring rack motion to the knuckle. A tapered stud locks into the knuckle, the nut secures it, and the boot traps grease so the joint stays smooth and tight.

If it’s bad or broken ⚠️

Expect vague steering, shimmy, and longer stops on rough roads. Severe wear can let the wheel toe change by itself; in extreme cases a separated joint can cause sudden loss of control. Replace promptly, torque to spec, fit a new cotter pin, and get a four-wheel alignment after install.

Notes from a tech

Match thread direction and effective length to the old part. Always check the inner rod and boots; pairing new outers with worn inners shortens life.
