RH Input Shaft Bearing for Manual Gearbox ⚙️

Why this part is needed ✅

This bearing supports the manual transmission input shaft on the right-hand side. It keeps the shaft perfectly aligned with the clutch and synchronizers, carries radial and light thrust loads, and lets the shaft spin freely. A healthy bearing means quiet operation, smooth shifting, lower heat, and longer gear and synchro life.

How it works

Hardened inner/outer races with precision steel balls run in a cage, lubricated by splash gear oil. The bearing centers the shaft under engine torque, controls endplay, and damps vibration. Correct clearance prevents wobble that can chew synchro rings, wear the input seal, and create metal debris inside the gearbox.

When worn or broken ❗

Early signs include a high-pitched whine that changes with road speed and clutch engaged, roughness in 3rd/4th, and metallic glitter in drained oil. You may get hard shifts, gear pop-out, or oil seep at the input seal. If it collapses or seizes, teeth can chip and the transmission may lock, risking major damage.

Tech notes for install ️

Replace the input seal together with the bearing. Inspect the shaft journal; any pitting means repair or replacement. Press only on the race being seated—never hammer. Set bearing pre-load/endplay to spec, use fresh GL-4 oil, seal the case halves properly, and road-test for quiet on drive and coast.
