Fuel Cut Solenoid Valve – Reliable Engine Shut‑Off

This OE-style shutoff valve controls fuel flow on Toyota mechanical diesel injection pumps and select carburetor systems. It delivers clean engine stop, smooth hot/cold starts, stable idle, and added safety. If your engine runs on after key-off, stalls at random, or cranks but won’t fire, this part is a key suspect.

Why you need it β›½

With ignition ON, 12V energizes a coil and lifts an internal plunger, opening the fuel passage to the pump or main jet. Switching OFF cuts power; the return spring seats the plunger and shuts fuel instantlyβ€”preventing dieseling, backfire, fuel wash, and waste.

How it works

A copper-wound coil drives a magnetic core; the tipped plunger seals against a precision seat with a heat‑resistant O‑ring. It mounts directly to the pump/carb body, draws low current, and resists vibration and heat for long service life.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

No-start or hard start, sudden cut-out, rough idle, engine run-on after key-off, poor economy, excess smoke, or fuel/air leaks from a damaged O‑ring. Common faults: burned coil, stuck plunger from varnish, corroded connector, or weak ground.

Tech tips βœ…

Check for 10–14V at the plug, an audible β€œclick,” and coil continuity. Clean the seat, replace the O‑ring, and tighten snugβ€”do not over‑torque. Verify the ignition feed/relay and battery health.
