Premium Oxygen Sensor for clean performance
This O2/lambda unit keeps the engine in closed-loop control, balancing fuel and air for smooth power, low emissions, and longer catalyst life. A fast heater shortens warm-up, improves MPG, and reduces exhaust odor. Built to OEM standards with a corrosion-resistant body and shielded wiring for stable signals.
Why you need it
- Holds airβfuel ratio at stoichiometric for efficient burn
- Protects the catalytic converter from rich-mix damage
- Cuts fuel use and stabilizes idle
- Helps pass emissions testing
How it works β½
Inside is a zirconia ceramic cell in a vented steel shell. It compares oxygen in exhaust to outside air and generates a 0.1β0.9 V signal. The ECU reads this voltage and trims fuel (STFT/LTFT) many times per second. An internal heater brings the element to temperature fast for accurate feedback, especially at cold start.
If it fails β οΈ
- Check Engine Light, codes like P0130βP0135
- Rough idle, hesitation, poor MPG
- Rich smell, sulfur odor, dark tailpipe
- Overheated or clogged catalytic converter; inspection failure
Install tips β
Use an O2 socket, avoid twisting the harness, fit a fresh seal, torque to spec, and apply a tiny amount of anti-seize on threads (not on the tip). Check for exhaust leaks, clear codes, and reset fuel trims after installation.
