MAF Air Flow Meter for Suzuki Engines
This sensor measures how much air enters the intake, so the ECU can mix fuel with precision. With a healthy MAF, cold starts are clean, throttle is crisp, and fuel economy stays strong. Itβs a small part with a big impact on engine health and emissions.
Why this part is needed
Modern engines depend on accurate airflow data to set injection time and ignition. A correct signal keeps power smooth, prevents detonation, and protects the catalytic converter. It also stabilizes idle and reduces fuel smell.
How it works
Inside is a heated element (hot-wire/film). Intake air cools it; the sensor adjusts electrical current to hold temperature. That current change becomes a voltage the ECU reads as air mass. The ECU then calculates fuel trim and load in real time.
What happens if it fails β οΈ
- Hard start, rough idle, flat spots on acceleration
- High fuel use, black smoke, sulfur smell
- Check Engine light, limp mode, poor top-end power
- Dirty intake and clogged cat over time
Tech tips
Inspect for intake leaks, clean only with MAF-safe spray, never touch the element. Replace the air filter and clear codes/adaptations after install.
