Why this part is needed
Without a reliable temperature signal, the ECU can’t set fuel mix or ignition advance. The result is wasted fuel, rough running, and risk of overheating. A fresh sensor restores factory mapping and protects the head gasket and catalytic converter.
How it works
Inside the brass body sits an NTC thermistor. As coolant warms, resistance drops; the ECU sees a changing voltage (about 0.2–4.5 V) and adjusts cold-start enrichment, idle speed, timing, and radiator fan cycles. A proper sealing washer prevents leaks, and the connector locks for stable readings ?.
