Intake Air Temperature Sensor for Suzuki engines ️
Why you need it
This small sensor feeds the ECU the real air temperature so it can calculate air density and deliver precise fuel and spark. Correct data means easy cold starts, strong mid‑range torque, smooth idle, better MPG, and lower emissions. If you tune or refresh an aging engine, replacing a tired IAT sensor restores factory drivability.
How it works ⚙️
Inside is a fast‑response NTC thermistor placed in the intake stream. Its resistance drops as air gets warmer. The ECU reads that change, trims injection time and ignition advance, and cooperates with MAP/MAF and O2 sensors for accurate mixture under all loads and weather.
When it fails ⚠️
Expect hard starts, rough idle, hesitation, poor fuel economy, rich smell/soot, sluggish acceleration, and a check engine light (often high/low IAT signal). The ECU may fall back to a default value, causing rich or lean mix and potential catalyst stress.
