OEM Crankshaft Thrust Washer Set for Toyota Engines

This precision washer pair controls crankshaft endplay, protecting the block, bearings, and transmission interface. It keeps the crank from moving forward or backward under clutch or converter loads, stabilizing idle, shift quality, and oil film health.

Why you need it ️

Axial control is critical in any Toyota petrol or diesel engine. Proper thrust support prevents seal wear, gear misalignment, and noise. It also safeguards the crank trigger alignment for accurate ignition timing.

How it works βš™οΈ

Two semi-circular washers seat on the thrust faces of the main bearing saddle. Their coated surface rides on a pressurized oil film, keeping endplay within spec (typically around 0.07–0.20 mm). Grooves guide oil and reduce friction during load spikes.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Excess play leads to knocking when pressing the clutch, in/out pulley movement, harsh shifts, rear main seal leaks, and glitter in oil. Severe wear lets the crank β€œwalk,” scuffing block faces, damaging the crank, flexplate, and bearingsβ€”often catastrophic.

Build and fitment βœ…

Steel-backed, anti-friction overlay for long life. Choose the correct size (STD or oversize) to match thrust face condition. Designed to meet OEM clearances in Toyota engine families using thrust-washer mains.

Installation tips ️

Inspect and polish thrust faces, clean passages, oil the surfaces, align grooves, torque caps to spec, then verify endplay with a dial indicator. After startup, recheck for noise and change oil if debris was present.
