    Why this part is needed

    Crankshaft end play must stay within spec. These washers create a low‑friction bearing face between the crank thrust flange and the rear main cap, keeping axial shock off the block. The result is stable oil film, correct gear alignment, and reliable clutch engagement.

    How it works

    Two half‑ring steel shells with anti‑friction overlay sit on both sides of the thrust surface. Engine oil feeds grooves to carry axial load. With the right thickness and orientation, end play is tight yet free, preventing harmful in‑out movement. Install at the rear main journal .

    When worn or broken ⚠️

    Symptoms: metallic click when pressing the clutch, pulley walking, hard shifting, erratic idle, crank sensor rub. Ignoring it leads to scored block/cap, rear main seal leaks, damaged main bearings, and even seized crankshaft.

    Tech notes

    Measure end float with a dial gauge, clean seats, lube during assembly, align oil grooves to the journal, and torque caps to spec. Replace during clutch jobs or if overlay shows scoring ✅.
