Engine Cooling Water Circulation Pump
This cooling pump is a key part of the engine temperature control system. It is needed to keep coolant moving between the engine, radiator, and heater circuit, so heat is removed steadily during idle and driving. Without correct circulation, even a good radiator and thermostat cannot protect the engine.
How It Works
Driven by the engine belt, an internal impeller spins and pushes coolant through the cooling passages. This constant flow prevents hot spots around the cylinder head, supports stable cabin heat, and helps the thermostat regulate temperature smoothly.
Signs of Failure & What Can Happen
If the unit is worn or damaged, you may see coolant leaks from the seal, bearing noise, wobbling pulley, or rising temperature. A broken impeller or seized bearing can stop flow, causing rapid overheating, warped head, blown gasket, and costly engine damage. Replace at the first leak or noise to avoid a roadside breakdown β οΈ.
