Engine Main Bearing Metal Set (Crankshaft Support)

This main bearing metal set is a critical internal engine part that supports the crankshaft inside the engine block. It is needed to keep the crankshaft perfectly aligned while it spins under heavy load and high RPM. ✅ Without healthy main bearings, oil pressure control and smooth rotation are impossible.

How It Works ⚙️

The bearing shells sit between the crankshaft journals and the engine block/caps. A thin film of pressurized engine oil creates a protective layer so metal never grinds on metal. This reduces friction, heat, and wear while keeping the crank stable for correct timing and combustion.

Why Replacement Matters

Main bearings wear over time from low oil level, dirty oil, overheating, or hard driving. During an engine rebuild, replacing them restores correct clearance and prevents future crankshaft damage.

If the Part Is Worn or Broken

You may hear deep knocking, see low oil pressure, and get metal flakes in the oil. Continued driving can spin a bearing, seize the crankshaft, damage the block, and lead to complete engine failure.
