Fuel Filler Neck Cap Assembly

This small part is a big safety item in your Suzuki’s fuel system. It seals the fuel filler opening so fuel vapors stay inside the tank, pressure stays stable, and rain/dust cannot enter. A correct seal also helps the EVAP system work properly, which keeps emissions low and fuel smell away. ⛽

Why this part is needed

Every time you refuel, the filler opening is exposed. This cap assembly closes it tight with a locking seal and controlled venting, preventing vapor leaks and fuel splashing while driving.

How it works

The internal gasket compresses against the filler neck. A spring/valve design manages slight pressure or vacuum changes in the tank, while the locking tabs keep the cap secure. When tightened until it clicks, it creates a reliable, repeatable seal.

What happens if it’s broken

A worn seal or cracked body can cause fuel odor, EVAP leak codes, harder refueling (pump click-off),and even a check engine light. In wet or dusty areas, contamination can reach the filler neck, risking corrosion and poor sealing over time. ⚠️
