Cabin Armrest Lock Mechanism

This small interior locking piece keeps the center armrest lid firmly closed while you drive. It is needed to stop the armrest from popping open on bumps, protect stored items, and keep the latch aligned for smooth daily use.

How It Works ⚙️

When you press the release button, the lock pawl moves away from the striker, letting the lid lift. When you close the armrest, the pawl snaps back into place and holds tension so the lid stays tight with minimal rattle.

Signs of Failure & What Happens If It Breaks ❗

A worn or cracked lock can cause a loose lid, clicking noises, or an armrest that won’t stay shut. In worse cases, the button jams, the lid cannot open, or the lid opens unexpectedly, stressing hinges and trim clips over time.
