Rear Wheel ABS Sensor Ring

Why this part is needed

ABS needs accurate wheel-speed data to prevent wheel lock during hard braking. The ring provides the “reference teeth” the sensor reads while the wheel rotates, helping maintain steering control on wet, sandy, or emergency stops.

How it works

As the ring spins with the hub/axle, each tooth passes the sensor and creates a pulse. The ABS module counts these pulses to calculate wheel speed in real time. Stable tooth spacing means stable braking performance and proper ABS activation.

What happens if it’s worn or broken

A cracked, rusty, bent, or missing-tooth ring can cause incorrect pulses. Common results: ABS warning light, unwanted ABS activation at low speed, longer stopping distance on slippery roads, or ABS/traction control disabled ⚠️.
