Power Steering Fluid Reservoir

Why this part is needed

This reservoir stores and conditions hydraulic steering oil, keeping the system quiet and smooth. A healthy tank ensures correct level, prevents aeration, and filters return flow so the pump receives clean, bubble-free fluid. Aging units crack, the cap seal hardens, and the internal screen clogs—leading to leaks, noise, and heavy steering.

How it works

Return fluid enters the canister and passes through baffles and a fine mesh. Air separates at the top, while clean oil exits the outlet to the pump. A vented, sealing cap maintains slight pressure balance and stops contamination. Translucent walls with level marks make checks fast. Molded ports accept feed and return hoses for a tight, OE-style fit.

What happens if it’s broken

Expect foamy fluid, pump whine, stiff wheel at low speed, vibration, wet hoses, and dark burnt oil. Continued use risks pump cavitation, seal failure, and rack wear. Replace the reservoir when the pump is changed or fluid is contaminated. After install, fill with the specified PS fluid, turn lock‑to‑lock with engine off, then start and top up. ✅
