The rack mount bushing anchors the steering rack to the subframe, keeping the gear centered and stable. It damps road shocks and engine vibration, so the wheel stays steady, feedback is clean, and tire wear stays even. A fresh, OE-style bushing restores tight handling, reduces NVH, and protects adjacent components from stress.

How it works ⚙️

This elastomer sleeve sits between the rack housing and its bracket. When you turn the wheel, it allows controlled micro-movement while blocking side-loads that cause play. The material absorbs impacts from potholes and keeps the pinion and rack aligned, ensuring smooth assist and precise return-to-center. Correct durometer and molded geometry prevent lateral drift and maintain toe stability.
