Inner Axle Oil Seal — Driveline Protection

This inner axle oil seal keeps gear oil inside the axle/differential where the drive shaft enters the housing. It locks out dust and water, holds the correct oil level, and protects bearings and gears so your van runs quiet and smooth mile after mile.

Why your van needs it ️

A healthy seal maintains lubrication film on gears and bearings, preventing heat, wear, and corrosion. It stops leaks that can stain brakes or wheels, stabilizes operating temperature, and helps the differential or gearbox deliver full life and performance.

How it works

A steel-cased, press-fit ring with a spring-loaded elastomer lip rides the axle shaft. The lip keeps a micro oil film while the garter spring maintains constant contact, even with shaft runout and heat cycles. Quality rubber resists gear oil, pressure, and road splash.

When it fails ⚠️

Typical signs: wet axle tube, oil on the inner rim, spots under the car, gear whine, humming on cruise, vibration, or burnt-oil smell. Continued leakage drops oil level, scoring bearings and ring-and-pinion, contaminating joints, and can lead to costly driveline failure.

Tech notes ✅

Inspect the shaft journal and vent, lube the lip, press squarely, and refill with the correct GL-rated oil. Replace companion O-rings/retainers if fitted.
