This electric motor drives the radiator cooling fan to keep engine temperature stable in traffic, hot weather, and when the A/C is working. It is needed because modern engines rely on controlled airflow through the radiator when natural airflow is not enough.

How It Works

When the coolant temperature rises, the ECU or fan control module sends power to the motor. The motor spins the fan blades, pulling air through the radiator and condenser. This quickly drops coolant and A/C pressures, helping the engine run efficiently and protecting seals, hoses, and sensors.

If the Motor Fails

A weak or seized motor can cause overheating at idle, A/C blowing warm, warning lights, or boiling coolant. Continued driving may lead to warped cylinder head, blown head gasket, and costly engine damage. Early signs include noisy bearings, slow fan speed, or the fan not turning on at all.
