Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor for Suzuki Engines

Why this part is needed

This MAP sensor feeds the ECU with precise intake manifold pressure data. With that signal, the ECU calculates the right fuel and ignition timing. The result is smooth idle, strong acceleration, clean emissions, and better fuel economy. It also helps the engine adapt to load and altitude changes .

How it works

Inside is a silicon diaphragm that flexes with vacuum/boost. Electronics convert that into a stable 0.5–4.5 V signal the ECU reads many times per second. A sealed body and tight O‑ring keep out moisture and oil mist for reliable readings.

What happens if it fails

Expect hard starts, rough idle, flat spots, high fuel use, black smoke, or stalling. The Check Engine light may show codes like P0106–P0108. The ECU may go into default mode, cutting power and risking catalytic converter damage if driven long ⚠️.

Install tips

Locate it on the intake manifold or via a short vacuum hose. Swap in minutes: power off, unplug 3‑pin connector, remove the unit, clean the port, fit a fresh O‑ring, refit and reconnect. Clear fault codes and verify live data for a steady pressure signal ✅.
