Radiator Inlet Coolant Hose – Stable Flow, Cool Engine

How it works ❄️

When the thermostat opens, the pump pushes hot coolant through this upper hose into the radiator’s top tank. The hose must tolerate high heat, pulsation, and vibration; the inner liner resists glycol, while reinforcement prevents ballooning and collapse.

What happens if it fails ⚠️

Leaks, steam, low coolant, weak cabin heat, or quick temperature spikes. Continued driving can warp the head or damage the gasket. Look for cracks, bulges, soft spots, or wet seams. Replace immediately.

Work on a cold engine. Drain to below hose level, swap clamps, orient to avoid rub points, seat fully, tighten evenly, refill 50/50 coolant, bleed air, and pressure-test.
