Engine Coolant Outlet Cover

This OE‑quality outlet cover mounts on the thermostat housing, sealing the passage where coolant leaves the cylinder head and flows to the upper radiator hose. Why you need it ❄️

A tight seal at the outlet is vital to prevent air entry and coolant loss. Proper pressure improves boiling point, coolant circulation, and water pump efficiency—key to preventing overheating during towing, hot weather, or stop‑and‑go traffic.

How it works

Bolts clamp the cover to the housing; the gasket absorbs expansion and vibration. When the thermostat opens, coolant passes through this neck to the radiator. A true‑flat flange and correct torque ensure lasting sealing.

When it fails

Cracks, warped flanges, or crushed seals cause seepage or sudden leaks. Symptoms include sweet coolant smell, crusty residue, damp around the housing, temp spikes, weak cabin heat, and possible warning light. Ignoring it risks overheating, warped head, or head gasket failure.
