Why this part is needed

How it works

A heated element sits in the intake stream. Airflow cools it; the control circuit adjusts current and outputs a precise voltage. The ECU converts that signal to load, then sets injection and ignition timing. Some versions include an intake air temp probe for finer trims.

What happens if it’s broken ⚠️

Symptoms: check engine light (P0100–P0104),flat spots, stalling, black smoke, or lean surge. The ECU may enter limp mode, harming the catalytic converter and O2 sensors over time.

Install tips

Swap with engine off. Do not touch the sensing wire. Use only MAF-safe cleaner. Inspect the air filter and ducts for leaks. Clear fuel trims with a scan tool for best results.
