Camshaft Timing Gear for Suzuki Engines ⚙️

This precision gear keeps the camshaft and crankshaft in exact sync, delivering smooth idle, strong torque, clean emissions, and stable fuel economy. If you want factory timing and reliability, this is the core part that makes it happen.

How it works ⏱️

The toothed wheel (timing sprocket) is fixed to the camshaft and driven by the timing chain. Its hardened teeth and exact pitch hold the cam phase angle under load, so valves open and close at the right piston positions. OE-grade steel, concentric bore, and secure indexing prevent slip and timing drift.

Why you need it

Teeth can wear, faces can pit from poor lubrication, and keyways can loosen. Even small play adds timing error. Replacing it during chain/tensioner or head work restores precise timing and reduces start-up rattle.

What happens if it fails

Cold-start rattle, rough idle, sluggish power, higher fuel use, and cam/crank correlation codes (e.g., P0016). In severe cases the chain can jump, causing bent valves or a no-start. Metal dust in oil is another warning sign.

Tech tips

Align timing marks carefully, torque bolts to spec with thread locker, and inspect/renew chain, guides, and tensioner. Pre-lube before first start.
