Engine Crankshaft Main Bearing Set (Standard Size) ?

This bearing set is essential for keeping the crankshaft centered and smoothly supported inside the engine block. It creates a controlled, low-friction surface so the crank can spin freely while carrying heavy combustion loads. Why this part is needed ✅

Main bearings take constant pressure from piston firing and crank rotation. They protect the crank journals and block saddles from direct metal-to-metal contact, especially during cold starts and high RPM driving.

How it works ⚙️

Each bearing shell forms a smooth cradle around the crank journal. Engine oil flows through galleries into the bearing surface, building an oil film that “floats” the crankshaft. This hydrodynamic layer reduces wear and stabilizes crank movement under load.

What happens if it’s worn or broken ?

Damaged bearings can cause low oil pressure, knocking/rumbling noise, excessive crank play, and rapid journal scoring. If ignored, it may lead to crank seizure, spun bearings, and total engine failure.
