Connecting Rod Bearing Set (Undersize) ?

This undersize bearing set is used inside the engine where the connecting rod meets the crankshaft journal. It is needed when the crank journal has been ground or polished to a smaller size during engine rebuild. The bearing creates a smooth, sacrificial surface so the rod can rotate freely while keeping correct oil clearance.

How It Works ?️

Engine oil is fed between the crank journal and the bearing shell, forming a thin pressurized film. That oil film prevents metal-to-metal contact, reduces heat, and keeps the crankshaft spinning quietly. The undersize thickness restores proper fit so oil pressure stays stable and the rod stays aligned under load.

If these bearings are worn or damaged, you may get low oil pressure, knocking sounds, vibration, and metal particles in oil.
