OE-spec Crankshaft Bearing Kit for Toyota Light Trucks π§
Why this part is needed π‘οΈ
This kit supports the crankshaft and keeps it centered in the engine block. It holds oil pressure, reduces friction, and keeps clearances correct under load. With fresh bearings, cold starts are safer, towing feels smoother, and the engine runs quieter and cooler.
How it works βοΈ
Each shell is a precision triβmetal surface that rides on a film of engine oil. When oil pressure builds, the crank floats on this film, not metal-to-metal. Correct clearances maintain a stable hydrodynamic layer, stopping wear, controlling heat, and protecting journals during high RPM and heavy payloads.
What happens if itβs worn or broken β οΈ
Knocking at idle, low oil pressure, metallic glitter in oil, and rising temps appear first. Keep driving and you risk spun bearings, scuffed journals, loss of power, and finally a seized engineβoften destroying the crank and block.
Tech notes for installers β
Measure journal sizes, match the grade, clean oil passages, use assembly lube, torque caps in sequence, and verify clearance with plastigage. After install, prime oil system and change oil early.
