Front Axle Shaft Bearing for Mitsubishi — Quiet, Precise, Long‑Lasting
Why this part is needed ?
This bearing supports the front drive shaft inside the steering knuckle, keeps the hub aligned, and carries both cornering and braking loads. It maintains smooth rotation, protects grease, and blocks dirt and water, ensuring a stable, quiet front end.
How it works ?
Hardened steel races and precision balls spin with the axle shaft while seals retain high‑temp grease. The bearing spreads radial and axial forces, keeps the CV joint centered, and preserves correct wheel geometry for accurate steering and even tire wear.
What if it fails ⚠️
Expect humming or growling that rises with speed, wheel play, vibration under load, and brake pull. Left unchecked, it can score the shaft, overheat the hub, trigger ABS faults, and in severe cases seize, risking wheel lock and costly repairs.
Tech and install notes ✅
Direct replacement size. Press in/out only—do not hammer. Clean bore, align square, and torque the axle nut to spec with a new cotter or stake nut. Replace the snap ring and check seals and CV boot during service.
