Front Suspension Coil Spring Upper Pad/Insulator for a Quiet, Precise Ride

Why this part is needed

This upper coil spring pad sits between the front spring and the strut seat. It cushions metal-to-metal contact, keeps the spring correctly indexed, and stabilizes ride height. By isolating vibration and road harshness (NVH), it prevents squeaks, knocks, and premature wear of the strut mount. Result: smoother steering feel, better comfort, and longer suspension life .

How it works

The molded elastomer pad fits the end of the coil and spreads load evenly across the perch. It absorbs micro-movements as the spring compresses, stopping rotation noise and protecting paint on the coil and seat. Working with the strut mount and bearing, it helps maintain accurate alignment under braking and cornering ️.

What happens if it’s worn or broken

  • Clunks, creaks, or squeaks over bumps
  • Harsh ride, steering kickback, or “memory steer”
  • Wandering, uneven tire wear, and poor alignment hold
  • Sagging corner or inconsistent ride height
  • Corrosion on spring seat and coil end

Replacement tips

Install in pairs, index the coil correctly, and torque fasteners at normal ride height. Inspect strut mount, bearing, bump stop, and dust boot; replace if cracked. Use a light silicone grease film—avoid petroleum products.
