Cam Timing Signal Sensor βš™οΈ

This engine sensor is needed to tell the ECU the exact position of the camshaft while the engine is running. With this signal, the computer controls fuel injection and ignition timing at the right moment. A good signal helps smooth starting, stable idle, clean acceleration, and better fuel economy.

How It Works ?

The sensor reads the rotation mark on the camshaft gear or trigger plate and sends a fast electrical pulse to the engine control unit. The ECU compares this information with crankshaft speed, then adjusts spark and injector timing. This small part works every second, especially during cold start, low RPM, and acceleration.

If It Fails ⚠️

A faulty sensor can cause hard starting, engine stall, rough idle, weak power, misfire, high fuel use, or a check engine light. In many cases the engine may crank but not start, because the ECU cannot confirm correct valve timing. Replacing it on time protects the ignition system, injectors, and catalytic converter from extra stress.
