Front Right ABS Wheel Speed Sensor ?

This sensor is a key safety part in the ABS system. It is needed to monitor the rotation speed of the front right wheel and help the car stay stable during hard braking or on slippery roads. When the control unit sees a wheel slowing too fast, it can reduce brake pressure and prevent lock-up. ✅

How It Works ⚙️

The sensor reads a toothed ring (or magnetic encoder) on the hub/axle and converts wheel movement into an electrical signal. That signal is sent to the ABS module, which compares all wheel speeds in real time. If one wheel starts to skid, the system rapidly modulates braking to keep steering control.

Why Replacement Matters ?️

A weak or broken sensor can cause the ABS warning light, loss of ABS function, and erratic traction/stability behavior. In some cases, the brakes still work normally, but without anti-lock support—stopping distances may increase on wet or loose surfaces. It may also trigger unwanted ABS activation at low speed if the signal is noisy.

Signs of a Fault

  • ABS light stays on
  • Traction/Stability warning appears
  • Pulsing brake pedal at low speed
  • Stored wheel-speed sensor fault codes
