    Automatic Up-Shift Clutch Disc Kit for Smooth Gear Changes

    This transmission disc kit is a core wear item inside the automatic gearbox, built to hold and release power during up-shifts. It’s needed because friction surfaces slowly thin out from heat, fluid load, and repeated shifting cycles. When fresh, it helps the transmission apply the clutch pack with the right grip so the vehicle accelerates cleanly and efficiently ⚙️.

    How It Works

    During a commanded gear change, hydraulic pressure squeezes the clutch pack. The discs lock together, transferring engine torque to the next gear set. The kit’s friction material and steel plates manage heat and prevent slip, while maintaining stable engagement in normal driving and heavy load conditions.

    What Happens If It’s Worn or Broken

    A damaged disc set can’t hold torque correctly. You may notice flare (RPM rising without speed), delayed engagement, harsh or soft shifts, shudder, or a burning smell in the ATF. Continued driving can contaminate fluid with debris, overheat the unit, and damage drums, valves, and the pump—turning a small repair into a full rebuild ?.

    Best practice is to inspect the clutch pack clearances, replace related seals, and refresh ATF and filter to protect the new friction surfaces.
