Rear Propeller Shaft Center Support Bearing ?

Keep your Mitsubishi drivetrain smooth and quiet. This rear prop shaft center support bearing holds the driveshaft in the middle, keeps it aligned, and cuts vibration. It is essential on AWD/4WD layouts where the shaft is long and needs a stable support to deliver torque without shudder.

Why you need it

Without a strong center support, the shaft can oscillate. This causes noise, harshness, and fast wear of U-joints and differential mounts. A good bearing improves comfort, protects nearby parts, and maintains power flow.

How it works βš™οΈ

A precision steel bearing is pressed onto the prop shaft and sits inside a rubber insulator bonded to a bracket. The rubber isolates vibration while the bearing keeps the shaft spinning true at high speed. Sealed lubrication resists water and dust.

When it fails ❗

  • Vibration on take-off and at 40–80 km/h
  • Droning or humming under load
  • Clunk on shifting and throttle tip-in
  • Shaft misalignment, U-joint damage, and oil seal leaks
  • In severe cases, loss of control if the shaft whips

Quality and fitting tips ?️

Choose OE-grade rubber hardness and sealed bearing. Mark shaft phasing before removal, press the bearing square, torque the bracket to spec, and set carrier height to avoid angles. After install, road-test for balance and recheck fasteners.
