Power Steering Reservoir Cap

This small cap plays a big role in keeping your power steering system healthy . It seals the fluid reservoir so the hydraulic oil stays clean, at the right level, and under proper conditions while driving.

Why this part is needed

The reservoir must be ะทะฐะบั€ั‹ tight to prevent dirt, moisture, and air from entering the steering fluid. A good seal also helps stop fluid mist and splashes from escaping during vibration and heat cycles.

How it works

The cap threads onto the reservoir neck and compresses its inner seal. This keeps the fluid from leaking and limits aeration. Some designs also allow slight pressure balancing to protect the tank during temperature changes.

What happens if itโ€™s broken

A cracked or loose cap can cause fluid leaks, foamy fluid, pump whining noise, heavy steering, and faster wear of the steering pump and rack. In worst cases, low fluid may lead to pump damage and unsafe steering feel โš ๏ธ.
